Hackett's Two Goals Lead Eagles Past St. Michael's, 4-2

Shelton, Conn. - Tyler Hackett scored two goals, and Kieran Hurley had a goal and an assist as the Post University men's hockey team topped St. Michael's, 4-2 on Tuesday evening. The win snapped an eight game losing streak as the Eagles sit at 3-9 on the season. Hurley got the Eagles on the board early at the 2:08 mark in the first period on an assist from Noah Wild and Steven Mullally. After St. Michael's tied the game on a goal from Nic Hermary, Hackett scored his first goal of the game on a pass from Niko Grollman to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead at the 17:02 mark. The teams played a scoreless second period, but the third period didn't take long to have some fireworks as Harrison Sheldon took a pass from Hurley and Evan Lugo and put it past Hugo Turcotte to give Post the 3-1 lead at 1:25. Again, St. Michael's closed the gap to 3-2 on a goal from Andy Ide at 8:36, but Hackett responded on a pass from Matt Moreschi to give the Eagles the insurance.
