Leo Folla Signs USL Contract with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC

CHATTANOOGA, TN – The Chattanooga Red Wolves SC announced the signing of former St. Francis Brooklyn men's soccer student-athlete Leo Folla to its USL League One team. Folla joins the club for its inaugural season in 2019 after he spent this past season with Härnösands FF of Sweden's Division 2 Norrland. "We're very excited for Leo; he was a tremendous leader here, a great captain, and a champion. Leo was someone that everybody really looked up to, he had a great work ethic and gave 100 percent all the time. We are so happy for him and wish him well in Chattanooga and continued success," said Terriers' head coach Tom Giovatto on Folla signing a professional contract with Chattanooga. Folla spent three seasons at St. Francis Brooklyn and played in 54 games. The defender recorded five goals and two assists for 12 points over his career in Brooklyn Heights. In 2017, Folla tallied career-highs in goals (three) and assists (two) in 19 games (18 starts). As a senior, he was tabbed to the All-NEC Second Team for his excellence on the pitch. "I look forward to joining such an ambitious club and having a successful inaugural season with Chattanooga," said Folla. "The club is moving in the right direction, and I'm ecstatic to continue my career development here." The New York, NY native, captured two Regular Season Championships and two Northeast Conference Championships (2016, 2017) as a member of the men's soccer team. The captain anchored a Terriers' backline that surrendered just 31 goals in 40 games over a two-year span (2016-2017).
