Katonka's Hat Trick Helps Propel No. 1/2 Women's Ice Hockey Past Buffalo State, 6-0

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Freshman forward Nicole Unsworth (Milwaukee, Wis./East Coast Wizards) tallied four points on a goal and three assists, as the No. 1/2 Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team completed a Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) weekend sweep over Buffalo State with a 6-0 victory over the Bengals Sunday afternoon at the Ronald B. Sophomore forward Annie Katonka (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) scored twice, while freshman forward Moe Tsukimoto (Sapporo, Japan/Northwood School) and senior forwards Mackenzie Millen (Anchorage, Alaska/North American Hockey Academy) and Ashley Songin (Springville, N.Y./Nichols School) each finished with two points on a goal and an assist. The Cardinals held a 59-16 edge in shots on goal and went 3-for-5 on the power play. The Bengals, meanwhile, were scoreless on five power-play chances, which included a 5-on-3 for 45 seconds in the third.
