Croswell Earns Met Basketball Writers DII/III Player of the Week


MADISON, N.J. (January 15, 2018) - Senior guard/forward Kayla Croswell of the FDU-Florham women's basketball team was named the Division II-III Player of the Week by the Met Basketball Writers Association. The MBWA designations, for games played Jan. 7-13, are unique in that they encompass players from 73 Met area schools across Divisions I, II and III. On Monday, Croswell was selected as the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Player of the Week for the first time in her career. The senior becomes the first player for FDU to be gain Met Basketball Player of the Week accolades since Gabrielle Harris did so last year on January 7. A 5-7 senior guard-forward from Norwalk, CT, Croswell --- averaged 24.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 2.3 assists in leading the Devils to two victories in three games on the road last week. Croswell scored a career-high 25 points on a perfect 10-of-10 shooting from the field while adding nine rebounds in an 81-52 triumph over Valley Forge. She recorded 24 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four assists in an 86-77 victory over Eastern. She closed the week with 24 points and seven rebounds in a 94-83 loss to King's. In 15 games this season, Croswell leads the Devils with 17.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, while also adding 2.5 steals and 2.1 assists. The Devils are back in action on Wednesday, hosting Delaware Valley at 8 p.m.
