Brewers Win Eight Events On Day One of Seven Sisters Championships

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – It was a successful first day of the Seven Sisters Championships for the Vassar College women's swimming & diving team. The Brewers won eight events and set a pair of meet records in the relays at Smith College's Dalton Pool on Saturday. As a team, Vassar was sitting in second place with 678.5 points. After opening the meet by taking second place in the 200 yard freestyle relay, the Brewers posted wins in three of the remaining four events during the morning session. Jesse Ecklund (Missoula, MT) dominated the 500 freestyle, earning the victory by nearly seven seconds with a time of 5:10.19. Vassar placed four swimmers in the top six, with Angharad Healey (Summit, NJ) placing third (5:17.28), Kael Ragnini (Barrington, IL) finishing fifth (5:21.997) and Kendall Hayes (Baltimore, MD) ending up sixth (5:24.27).
