Boerke Wins High Jump And Hurdles At Middlebury Invitational
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Freshman Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) of the No. 30 Plattsburgh State women's track and field team won both the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump at the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday. Boerke ran a personal best of 9.74 seconds in the hurdles and jumped 4' 9.50" in high jump for two first place finishes. Freshman Ann Beauchamp (Potsdam, N.Y. / Potsdam) was second in high jump with a mark of 4' 7.50" Junior Hannah Cunningham (Campbell Hall, N.Y. / Washingtonville) finished third in weight throw with a mark of 42' 10.75" Freshman Journey Myricks (Cohoes, N.Y. / Shaker) was fourth in shot put with a throw of 36' 4.00" Sophomore Katie Gibson (Ballston Lake, N.Y. / Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) finished sixth in both the shot put and weight throw with marks of 34' 2.75" and 40' 7.75" respectively. The 4x200 meter relay of junior Taylor Canet (Peru, N.Y. / Peru), freshman Ava Cristiano (Loudonville, N.Y. / Emma Willard School), freshman Allison Seidman (Commack, N.Y. / Commack) and Boerke placed third with a time of 1:53.75. The Cardinals are back in action Saturday, Feb. 2, for the Ithaca Bomber Invitational.
