GORHAM, Maine—The Skidmore College hockey team scored three third period goals in a 4-1 win over Southern Maine in New England Hockey Conference action Friday night. The win gives the Thoroughbreds the season sweep of the Huskies and a 11-7-2 overall and 7-4-2 NEHC record. Skidmore moves into fifth place with 16 points and five games to play. Southern Maine falls to 3-14-3 and 3-10-1 NEHC. After a scoreless first period, Reid Russell scored his third of the season from John Litscher and Paul Vella at 1:46 for a 1-0 Thoroughbred lead. USM tied it on a turnover in the Skidmore zone that resulted on a 3-on-1 that Michael Taormina converted for a 1-1 score at 6:29.
