Men's Basketball Falls to Bloomfield Despite Strong First Half


Nyack, NY - The Nyack College men's basketball hosted the number of the CACC North Division, the Bloomfield College Bears, on Wednesday night.

The Basics: Final: Nyack 79 , Bloomfield 95 Records: NC (4-18, 3-11), BC (12-2, 14-9 Location: Nyack, New York

Game Summary:

  • the game went back and forth in the opening minutes, but Nyack slowly moved away and increased their lead to 13 with 11 minutes left in the first half

  • with 3:30 left in the first half the Bears tied the game and took the lead which they increased to seven

  • it seemed as if Bloomfield would carry a comfortable margin into halftime, but Nyack was not done yet and rallied back to earn a one-point lead at the break 46-45

  • Bloomfield came out strong in the second half and took the lead early with four consecutive made buckets

  • Nyack kept up with the Bears in the opening minutes, but Bloomfield would slowly run away with the game, which eventually finished with a final score 70-95

Key Performances: Five Warriors reached double figures with Joel Bailey leading the pack with 15 points. Jah-Meer McDuffied totaled another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Up Next: Nyack will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the USciences Devils in a cross-divisional match.
