Men’s Basketball Stays No. 2 in East Region in NCAA Regional Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS – The Plattsburgh State men's basketball team remains ranked No. 2 in the East Region in week three of the NCAA Division III Regional Rankings. The regional rankings are based on the same criteria used to select and seed teams in the NCAA Division III Tournament. New regional rankings will now be released weekly, with the final rankings that are used to select and seed the NCAA Tournament field being private. The Cardinals were recently ranked No. 24 in this week's D3hoops.com Top-25 poll. They are 20-5 overall for the season and 14-4 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). Rochester remains No. 1, Oswego State is No. 3, Brockport is No. 5, Cortland is No 6 and Oneonta is No 7. Plattsburgh State will head to Oswego. N.Y. for the SUNYAC championship Feb. 22-23. The Cardinals are the No. 2 seed and will play the No. 3 seed The College at Brockport in the first semifinal game on Friday at 5:30 p.m. inside Max Ziel Gymnasium. Oswego is the No. 1 seed and will play No. 5 Oneonta in the second semifinal game at 7:30 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off on Saturday.
