Kingsborough's Ba Named USTFCCCA All-American in 800-Meter Run
NEW ORLEANS, La. (Mar. 11, 2019) - Kingsborough Community College freshman Amadou Ba has been tabbed as a USTFCCCA All-American for his efforts in the 800-meter run at the 2019 NJCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships, the organization recently announced. Ba placed eighth in the 800-meter run at last week's championships, clocking a 1:58.00. He competed against a slew of Division I scholarship runners in the race. Ba's personal-best time this season was a 1:53.75. "Being named an All-American felt like a new opportunity for moving forward with my track career, with one of my goals of being an Olympian," Ba said. "It has also given me motivation to achieve even more as I prepare for the outdoor season." Ba is the first freshman in the history of the Kingsborough men's indoor track and field program to receive All-America status at the Division I meet. F
