Terriers Conclude Competition at CSCAA National Invitational Championship


CLEVELAND, OH – Three members of the St. Francis Brooklyn swimming and diving program competed in the 2019 CSCAA National Invitational Championship in Cleveland, OH. The three-day event began on Friday, March 14, and concluded on Sunday morning for the Terriers. The trio of Ana Paula Montes de Oca, Fanny Stromstedt, and Alfred Christensson represented St. Francis Brooklyn at the National Invitational Championship. The Terriers took part in preliminary rounds on all three days of the meet. DAY ONE RESULTS:

  • Stromstedt was the first to jump in the pool for the Terriers as she competed in the 50 breaststroke and posted a time of 30.58, which was tied for 43rd-place.

  • Montes de Oca later came in 37th in the 500 free as she clocked a time of 5:00.83.

  • Christensson registered a time of 24.39 and came in 32nd-place in the 50 backstroke.

DAY TWO RESULTS:

  • Christensson began day two of the meet with a 39th-place finish in the 100 fly as he touched the wall in 52.11. He later tallied a time of 54.52 in the 100 back and came in 32nd.

  • Montes de Oca notched a time of 1:52.61 in the 200 free as she came in 49th-place in the event.

  • Stromstedt clocked a time of 1:05.80 and finished in 48th-place in the 100 breaststroke.

DAY THREE RESULTS:

  • Stromstedt was the first to compete for the Terriers on the final day of the championship. She earned 40th-place in the 200 breaststroke and recorded a time of 2:22.35.

  • Christensson placed 29th in the 200 fly and posted a time of 1:59.79.

  • Montes de Oca closed out the championship for the Terriers in the 200 fly. She came in 34th-place and touched in at 2:07.16. She then posted a time of 17:28.21 in the 1650 free.
