Gilmour '20 collects D3hoops.com all-America honors


Hamilton College's Kena Gilmour '20 (New Paltz, N.Y./Kent School [Conn.]) was selected for the 2019 D3hoops.com Men's All-America Team on Saturday, March 16. D3hoops.com Men's All-America Team release The 6-foot, 4-inch guard was voted to the fourth team less than a week after he made the first team in the Northeast Region on the D3hoops.com all-region team. Gilmour is one of 25 athletes honored in NCAA Division III. Gilmour -- this year's NESCAC Player of the Year -- was the leading scorer on a team that finished the season with a 25-5 record and advanced to the sectional semifinals (third round) of the NCAA championship for the second year in a row. The 25 wins are the second-highest total for a season in program history. The Continentals tied for first place in the conference standings at 7-3 and played in the NESCAC championship final for the first time. Gilmour averaged 19.0 points and 5.8 rebounds as he started all 30 games. He tied for the team lead with 92 assists and added 37 steals and 20 blocked shots. He shot 47.4 percent from the field, including 33.9 percent from 3-point range, and made 87.5 percent of his shots at the free-throw line. He scored in double figures in all but three games, eclipsed the 20-point mark 14 times and went over 30 points twice. He's already 12th on the team's all-time scoring list with 1,406 points.
