MONMOUTH WOMEN’S GOLF WINS SPRING SHOOTOUT EVENT


NEPTUNE, NJ – In its first home event of the season, Monmouth University Women's Golf finished in first place at the Monmouth Spring Shootout at Jumping Brook Country Club on Tuesday. Amanda Hart (Holmdel, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) finished second overall and led the Hawks, shooting an 82 on the day. Hart's 82 was solo second among all competitors, while MU had a pair tie for third with Cassidy Gavaghan (Ambler, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) and Haley Goodling (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) both carding 83. Mackenzie Matarese(Keyport, NJ/Mater Dei) ranked 12th, shooting 100, trailed by teammate Katie Baron (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney). The Hawks shot 348 as a group, topping Drew University's 375 in second place. St. Francis Brooklyn shot 311 but did not qualify for team honors, and Mount St. Mary's placed their two competitors in the top-three with Olivia Gardenhour taking the individual title with an 81.
