Men's Lacrosse Comeback Falls Short at No. 20 Union, 11-7


Montclair, NJ – Union College's Keaton McCann scored twice as the 20th-ranked Dutchmen put eight of the first nine goals on the board then held off a Montclair State rally late in an 11-7 victory at Frank Bailey Field on Wednesday afternoon. John Edmonds and Hayden Frey also scored two goals as Union improved to 8-1 on the season. Senior DAN BELLEZZA recorded three goals with TYLER MCCREERYadding two for the Red Hawks, who fell to 4-5 on the year. Four of MSU's losses this season have been to Top 20 teams. Aiden Flood gave Union a 1-0 lead in the first five minutes before McCreery found the back of the net with 6:02 left in the first quarter knotting the game at 1-1. Kieran McGovern then started an eight-goal run over the next two-plus quarters as the Dutchmen built an 8-1 lead with 13:18 remaining in the third quarter.
