Gabrielle Orie SideLine Women's Track and Field Set For ECAC Championships


THACA, N.Y. – The Cornell women's track and field team will compete at the ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship this Saturday and Sunday at Weaver Stadium in Princeton, New Jersey. The hammer throw, which is set to start at 2 p.m., will be the first women's field event on Saturday. The first women's event on the track will be the 4x100m relay, which is slated to begin at 2:45 p.m. The Big Red placed third at the outdoor Heps meet last weekend, which was also held at Weaver Stadium. Cornell had a total of 20 scoring efforts including two event wins and a total of four all-Ivy performances. Senior Briar Brumley (3000m steeplechase) and freshman Beatrice Juskeviciute (heptathlon) earned first team honors for winning their events, while senior Eve Glasergreen (10,000m) and sophomore Marguerite Lorenzo were tabbed to the second team after placing second. Cornell has two more postseason meets remaining on its schedule. Members that qualify will head to the NCAA First Round meet in Jacksonville, Florida, on May 23-25 with hopes of advancing to the NCAA Final Round, which will take place in Austin, Texas, on June 5-6.
