INDIANAPOLIS. Ind. (May 20, 2019) - City College of New York women's track and field standout Avery Maillet is heading back to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships for a second-straight year. Maillet will compete in the long jump and 200-meter dash this week (May 23-25) at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Her qualifying mark in the long jump was the sixth-best in the nation. Maillet also posted a Top 20 time in the 200-dash. Both marks earned her USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region status. Maillet's top performance in the long jump this season came at the Coach O Invitational, where she placed first with a leap of 5.78 meters. Then, at the ECAC Outdoor Championships, she won the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 24.92. "We're so excited to be back on the national stage, this time in two events," said CCNY Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Demetrius Murray. "Avery put in a lot of hard work to make this possible and it was a total team effort by our coaching staff. We are going to do our best to make our athletic department and conference proud."
