Men's Lightweight Rowing Seeks National Title This Weekend

THACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's lightweight rowing team enters the weekend seeking its eighth national championship when it travels to the 117th edition of the annual IRA Regatta on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. Competition begins on Friday, May 31 and continues through Sunday, June 2. The Big Red lightweight varsity eight, ranked No. 1 through the majority of the season, enters the weekend as the seventh seed after a surprising seventh place finish at the 2019 Eastern Sprints. Despite the seventh place finish, Cornell posted a time that was good enough to win the Ivy title had it been in the Grand Finals, and will look to prove its mettle by winning its fourth IRA title in the last six years. Once again, the IRA National Championships will be streamed via USRowing's YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/user/usrowingorg/featured.
