Matt Mintz Named Seahawks’ Diving Coach
Staten Island, NY – Wagner College head swimming and diving coach Colin Shannahan has announced the hiring of Matt Mintz as the Seahawks' new diving coach. A former standout diver at Division III Union College (NY), Mintz brings a plethora of coaching experience to Grymes Hill. Following coaching stints at the Full Out Dive Club and the Middlesex Country Clubs, Mintz most recently served as the diving coach at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, CT during the 2018-2019 season. As a student-athlete at Union, Mintz was an Honorable Mention All-American on the three-meter board in 2018. The 2016 Liberty League Diver of the Year placed 11th on the three-meter board and 17th on the one meter board at the NCAA Championships in 2018 while logging a 20th place finish on the three meter board in 2017. Mintz takes over a diving program that is coming off its most successful year in program history, as 2019 graduate Adrianna Warning was named the Northeast Conference's (NEC) Most Outstanding Diver at the NEC Championships.
