Asante Gist Invited To CP3 Elite Guard Camp

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Iona College men's basketball rising senior Asante Gist will participate in the prestigious CP3 Elite Guard Camp from July 18-21 in Winston-Salem, NC. Gist will be one of a handful of college players joining 13-year NBA veteran Chris Paul and some of the top instructors in the game of basketball. In his first season with the Gaels in 2018-19, Gist averaged 12.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. He connected on a team-high 67 three-point field goals at a 36.0 percent clip. Gist was instrumental during Iona's MAAC Championship run, leading the team in scoring four times in the 10-game winning streak prior to the NCAA Tournament. He scored 22 points in both the MAAC semifinal and championship games to pace the Maroon & Gold. East Orange, NJ native came back to the Metropolitan area to play for the Gaels after spending his first two seasons at Eastern Kentucky. Gist was hand-selected to serve as a counselor for the invitation-only camp for the top high school and college guards in the country. Players are tutored on everything from skill development to film breakdown to life skills. Current and former NBA coaches and elite high school coaches round out the staff to provide the once in a lifetime opportunity.
