Bulls Picked to Finish Third in the MAC East Division

DETROIT, MI – The Mid-American Conference released its preseason poll for the upcoming football season at its annual media day on Tuesday and the University at Buffalo was selected to finish third in the MAC East Division. The poll was determined by members of the league's media. The Bulls earned 100 points, trailing only Ohio (144) and Miami (107) in the East Division. UB finished ahead of Kent State (62), Akron (54) and Bowling Green (37). Toledo was picked to win the West Division (127), followed by Western Michigan (112), Northern Illinois (103), Eastern Michigan (83), Ball State (43) and Central Michigan (36). Buffalo is coming off a school-record 10-win campaign, a MAC East Division title and a spot in the Dollar General Bowl. The Bulls return six starters on offense, including nearly the entire offense line as well as MAC Freshman of the Year Jaret Patterson at running back who rushed for 1,013 yards in 2018, the most by a freshman running back in school history. UB will have a number of new starters on the defensive side of the ball as well. However, the Bulls were able to build important depth last season and reserve players gained valuable experience which should help with the transition.
