Jesse Bramble and Glenn Cunningham Named Preseason All-Patriot League


Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham senior defensive back Jesse Bramble and junior linebacker Glenn Cunningham have been named to the 2019 Patriot League Preseason All-Conference team when the League announced preseason football honors on Tuesday. In addition, Cunningham was also named a Third Team STATS FCS Preseason All-American. In team predictions, Colgate, the defending Patriot League champions, was selected to repeat as champions, followed by Holy Cross, Georgetown, Fordham, Lehigh, Lafayette, and Bucknell. Voting for the 29-member All-Patriot League team, Preseason Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year and, the preseason poll, was completed by the Patriot League football head coaches and sports information directors. They cannot vote for their own team or student-athletes. Bramble, a 2019 team captain and two-year starter, made 39 total tackles, 31 solo, and recorded four interceptions, nine pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries in 2018. He led the team in interceptions and was second in pass breakups and was second in the Patriot League, and 23rd in the NCAA FCS, in passes defended/game (1.18). Over his three-year career, Bramble has 85 total tackles, 68 solo, along with 14 pass breakups and four interceptions. Cunningham, a second team All-Patriot League pick last year, led the 2018 Rams with 92 total tackles, 53 solo, including 21.5 for loss and three sacks. He also had one pass break up and one interception. Cunningham leads the Patriot League and is fourth in the NCAA FCS in tackles for loss/game (2.0) and his 21.5 tackles for loss last fall is a Fordham record, surpassing the former mark of 20.0 set by Carl Barbera in 1995. Over his two-year Fordham career, Cunningham has 174 total tackles, 110 solo, including 31.0 for loss and 8.5 sacks.
