New York Giants Sign Marist Graduate Terrence Fede
POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Terrence Fede, a 2013 Marist graduate, has been signed by the NFL's New York Giants. In 2014, Fede became the first Marist football player selected in the NFL Draft when he was chosen by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round. Later that year, he became the first member of the program to appear in an NFL game.
Fede, who is from Nyack, New York, played at Marist from 2009-13. He still holds the program's single-season (13, in 2013) and career (30.5) records for sacks. He helped lead the Red Foxes to a share of the Pioneer Football League championship in 2013, as he was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year. That year, Fede was named a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is presented to the top defensive player in the Football Championship Subdivision. Fede is one of two Marist football players to appear in an NFL game. Seattle Seahawks kicker Jason Myers is entering his fifth season in the NFL, and was selected to last season's Pro Bowl as a member of the New York Jets.
