Fider Appointed Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Lehman

BRONX, N.Y. (Jul. 31, 2019) - On Wednesday, Lehman College Director of Athletics Dr. Martin Zwiren hired Jessica Fider as the Lightning's head women's volleyball coach. With over a dozen years of coaching experience, Fider brings a lot of skills to Lehman. The Nyack College graduate has coached in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and New York. "I'm excited about the opportunity," said Fider. "This will definitely be a challenge, but I am confident in my abilities and the support from Lehman administration. I want to thank Dr. Zwiren for giving me the opportunity." She played collegiately as an opposite hitter and defensive specialist at Nyack and Dowling College. "We are happy to have Jessica joining our athletic family," Zwiren said. "She has a strong knowledge of the game. I believe she will connect with our team and that our student-athletes will absorb all of the knowledge that she will instill upon them." Fider and her charge will open the season at USMMA on Friday, Aug. 30, before their home opener the following day (Aug. 31) against the College of Mount St. Vincent at 1 p.m.
