Dutchmen tabbed fourth in tight coaches poll

TROY, N.Y. -- The Union College Football team was picked fourth in the 2019 Liberty League Football Preseason Poll, the conference announced Monday. The Dutchmen received one first-place vote, but finished just one point behind Hobart in the polling. Defending 2018 champions RPI was picked first with four first-place votes and 32 total points. However, Ithaca finished finished in a close second with 31 points. The Dutchmen will play six conference games this season, as Buffalo State College joins the Liberty League as an affiliate member in football. Union opens the 2019 season on Sept. 7, hosting Westfield State at Frank Bailey Field at Bertagna-Class of 1985 Stadium. Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
