Dolphins Dominate In Season Opener Rutgers-Newark

Riverdale, NY- The Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team took the court for the first time this season this weekend and picked up right where they left off. The women traveled to nearby Lehman College and won in impressive fashion. The Dolphins won in straight sets (25-10, 25-11, 25-3). CMSV will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday. From the beginning of the first set it was all Dolphins. Dominating the opening set while getting contributions from all over the roster. CMSV saw eight players register a kill in the team's first contest of the year, Tara Maloney, Dez Brown and Samantha Schroeder each had five apiece to lead the Dolphins. Nothing would change over the next two sets as CMSV continued to play great team volleyball. The most impressive stat of the day would be sophomore Lindsay DeBoer who register eight service aces on the day which led the Dolphins to their 25-3 third set victory. A great start for the reigning Skyline Conference champions. will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to New Jersey on Tuesday to take on Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference matchup. The team will look to improve to 2-0 for the first time sinceCMSV 2009.
