Pace Women's Soccer Blanks Post, 4-0


PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Sparked by three goals in the first half, the Pace University women's soccer team registered a 4-0 triumph over Post University on Sunday night. The Setters, who are now 2-0, have outscored their two opponents so far this season by a 10-3 margin. Freshman Cecilia Puentes (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L Johnson) set the tone for the Blue and Gold, putting in both of their opening goals. The rookie found the back of the net in the ninth and 16th minutes of the first half. She now has three goals and one assist across her first two collegiate games. Sophomore Lynzee Kelty (Narrowsburg, N.Y./Eldred) tacked on Pace's third goal of the opening half in the 35th minute off an assist from freshman Dianna Glaser (East Moriches, N.Y./Westhampton Beach). The Setters' final tally of the night came off a perfectly struck free kick from Marta Sadornil (Madrid, Spain/Colegio Montserrat) in the 72nd minute. Sadornil rocketed a shot over the Post keeper from about 30 yards out. Pace outshot the Eagles by a 19-3 margin, including 8-0 in shots on goal. Up Next The Setters travel to Long Island to take on New York Tech on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
