Football Shuts Down Salve Regina for First Win, 28-11
Newport, RI – Junior quarterback JA'QUILL BURCH threw for 292 yards and three long touchdowns as Montclair State bounced back from its season-opening loss with a 28-11 victory over Salve Regina at Toppa Field on Saturday afternoon. CRAIG MERKLE rushed for a 71-yard touchdown as the Red Hawks (1-1) limited the Seahawks to 217 yards of offense in improving to 5-2 all-time against Salve. Montclair State is now off for the week and returns to action on Saturday, September 28 with another road game. MSU will be in Geneva, NY to face Hobart College at 1:00 pm.
