WOMEN’S TENNIS DEFEATS DELAWARE STATE


WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University women's tennis team earned its first win of the season on Thursday, defeating Delaware State by a score of 4-3. Freshman Ann Spurka (Cumming, GA/Cambridge) registered a win at No. 1 singles in three sets, 7-5, 5-7, 10-7. Sophomore Nicole Gasser (Middletown, NJ/Middletown South) won at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-2. Outside of the forfeit win at No. 6, junior Chinonye Gabriel (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) was the first Monmouth win at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-3.
