Beenders Tallies 100th Career Point in 3-0 win over CSI
Montclair, NJ- Senior EMILY BEENDERS registered her 100th career point in Montclair State's 3-0 win over the College of Staten Island at MSU Soccer Park on Monday evening. Beenders is just the third MSU player of all-time to register over 100 points in a career. The Red Hawks controlled possession throughout the contest as the Red Hawks held the the Dolphins to zero shots in the game. Montclair State (9-4-2) scored three second half goals in the win. MSU and CSI played to a scoreless first half after the Red Hawks couldn't find the back of the net. Montclair got off 13 shots in the period but Samantha Beaudreault made four of her nine saves in the first 45 minutes. Montclair wasted no time in the second half, breaking the scoreless draw less than one minute into the final period. CHISOM ONYEWUENYI headed in a corner kick from EMILY DEGEYTER to give the Red Hawks the 1-0 lead. The goal was the first of the career for Onyewyeni. Beenders converted on a penalty kick in the 55th minute for her 101st career point. Beenders now has 40 goals and 21 assists to get her over the century mark for her career. KAITLYN SCRIVANICH added a goal in the final minute to give the Red Hawks the 3-0 win. MSU takes on NJCU on Wednesday at 7 p.m. from MSU Soccer Park.
