Women's Tennis Edges Baruch

Edgewater, N.J. (10/17/19) – The Kean University women's tennis team edged Baruch College by the final of 5-4 on Thursday evening.

The contest was moved indoors with the inclement weather in the area.

The Cougars (8-6) earned wins at second and third doubles while adding wins at fourth, fifth and sixth single. Anna Chan and Wilmeris Matias were ahaead 7-4 in doubles action before a Bearcat injury gave Kean the second double point by retirement. Nicole Nin and Jada Mack earned an 8-3 win at third doubles for a 2-1 lead after doubles action.

Mack then battled back in fourth singles action to earn a three set victory while Nin coasted to a 6-3, 6-1 win at fifth singles. Bianca Ortega collected a default win at sixth singles to round out the scoring.
