Monroe Mustangs Women’s Soccer Closes Out Regular Season at No. 1 in NJCAA Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C., October 21, 2019 – The Monroe College Mustangs women's soccer team left no doubt this season who deserved to be the top team in the country, as the Mustangs once again came in at No. 1 in the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Rankings for Week 8, the final rankings of the regular season. The Mustangs have been ranked No. 1 in every poll this year, beginning with the Preseason Rankings. The undefeated Mustangs lead the NJCAA with an average of 8.13 goals scored per game this season. Sydoney Clarke's 5.88 points per game are tied for fourth best in the nation, while her 2.50 goals per game rank sixth in the NJCAA. Luana Grabias ranks 11th in the NJCAA with 4.38 points per game, and 15th with 1.75 goals per game. Goalkeeper Stefane Rosa's .895 save percentage is 10th best in the country, while her 0.50 goals-against average is tied for 10th as well. The Mustangs have completed their regular-season slate, and will play next on Friday, Nov. 1, when they host Community College of Rhode Island in the Region XV/XIX Championship game to determine which team advances to the District Championship. The game is set to kick off at 1 p.m. at Skidelsky Field at Flowers Park in New Rochelle.
