Monroe Mustangs Women’s Soccer Enters Postseason Action as No. 1 Team in NJCAA
CHARLOTTE, N.C., October 28, 2019 – Heading into the team's first postseason contest of the season, the Monroe College Mustangs women's soccer team remained the No. 1 team in the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Rankings for Week 9, as announced by the NJCAA on Monday. The 8-0 Mustangs continue lead the NJCAA with an average of 8.13 goals scored per game this season. Sydoney Clarke's 5.88 points per game are tied for fourth best in the nation, while her 2.50 goals per game rank sixth in the NJCAA. Luana Grabias ranks 10th in the NJCAA with 4.38 points per game, and 12th with 1.75 goals per game. Goalkeeper Stefane Rosa's .895 save percentage is eighth best in the country, while her 0.50 goals-against average is tied for seventh. The Mustangs will play next on Friday, Nov. 1, when they host Community College of Rhode Island in the Region XV/XIX Championship game to determine which team advances to the District Championship. The game is set to kick off at 1 p.m. at Skidelsky Field at Flowers Park in New Rochelle.
