BOWL BOUND! No. 18 Monroe Football to Take on No. 3 Hutchinson in 11th Annual Salt City Bowl

HUTCHINSON, Kan, November 12, 2019 – For the second straight year, and second time in program history, the Monroe College football team is bowl bound, as the Mustangs have accepted an invitation to the 11th Annual Salt City Bowl at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson, Kan. The Mustangs will take on No. 3 Hutchinson Community College on Saturday, Dec. 7. The Mustangs will enter the Salt City Bowl as the No. 18-ranked team in the final NJCAA Football Rankings for the 2019 season, as announced by the NJCAA on Monday. Hutchinson, fresh off a 56-0 victory over Iowa Central Community College, took over the No. 3 spot in the rankings for the final week of the season. The Mustangs played in their first-ever bowl game in 2018, the Graphic Edge Bowl, against Iowa Central Community College. The Mustangs entered the UNI Dome as the No. 12 team in the NJCAA, while the Tritons came in at No. 16. The Mustangs fell in their first-ever bowl game, 34-20, and will be looking for their first postseason victory in the 2019 edition of the Salt City Bowl.
