Vassar Women’s Cross Country Earns At-Large Bid To NCAA Division III Championships

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Following a program best fifth-place finish at Saturday's NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship meet, the Vassar women's cross country team was selected to compete for a national championship next weekend. The Brewers were one of 16 at-large teams chosen and will now compete in the championship race in Louisville, KY on November 23. While the Brewers have had individual competitors in the past, this marks the first time in school history that the women's team has made it to the NCAA Championship. Sophomore Keara Ginell (Naperville, IL) was Vassar's top finisher at Saturday's regional meet, placing third overall to earn all-region honors. In addition to Ginell's NCAA All-Region honors, junior Hannah Martin (Fort Wayne, IN) went all-region as well with a 22nd place finish. Also competing at regionals were senior Meghan Cook (South Burlington, VT), sophomore Sasha Allison (Bloomington, IN), and freshmen Augusta Stockman (Camden, ME) and Lily Digman (Ballston Lake, NY). The NCAA Championships will be held on Sat. Nov. 23 at Tom Sawyer State Park, the same location as the 2016 championships.
