Purchase Women's Swim Collects Seventh Win at York College
JAMAICA, NY - The Purchase College women's swim team earned a convincing win Tuesday night, topping the Cardinals of York College, 95-59, in non-conference meet. With the victory, the Panthers finished off the regular season with a 7-8 record and tallied their best record since the 2015-16 campaign. Meanwhile, the Cardinals dropped to 0-10 on the year. Results Freshman Brienne Westfall (Grand Island, NY) capped off her stellar season with three more wins Tuesday. She finished first in the 200-free with a time 2:39.26 and the 100-fly with a time of 1:21.06. Her final win came as part of the 400-free relay with her teammates, Samantha Schnupp (JR/New York, NY), Lizzie Cartwright (FR/Middletown, NY) and Alexandra Palermo (JR/Rye, NY). The quartet finished the race in 4:58.64. Up next for the squad is the most important weekend of the year - Skyline Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. Purchase will be hosting the event this weekend, January 25th and 26th, and welcome the rest of the conference to town.
