ASA Brooklyn Avengers Men's Basketball Converted Series of 3 Point Baskets as they Win vs Villa

Brooklyn, NY – The ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's basketball team played a home game against Villa Maria College.
The Avengers quickly opened up a 16-8 lead, but Villa Maria came back and retook the lead moments later with the score at 25-23. From there, it became a back and forth battle between the two teams and the half ended 38-36. In the opening minutes of the second half, the Avengers quickly converted their 3 point attempts on three straight possessions. Another bucket by the Avengers later, and the team jumped to a double digit lead against Villa Maria. Leading by as much as 15 points midway through the 2nd half, the Avengers defense faltered and turned into a two possession game in the closing minutes. However, the Avengers held off and won the game 77-70.
The game high leading scorer for the game was #13 Brayan de la Cruz and #10 Malcom Martinez both with 17 points. Martinez also led the Avengers with five 3-point baskets.
The ASA Brooklyn Avengers men's basketball team next plays on Tuesday against Mercer County CC before a regional match against Monroe College at New Rochelle on Wednesday.
