Monroe Mustangs Men’s Soccer Comes in at No. 2 in Latest NJCAA Men’s Soccer Poll


CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 26, 2021 – The Monroe College Mustangs men's soccer team came in at No. 2 in the NJCAA Div. I Men's Soccer Rankings for Week 4, as announced by the NJCAA on Monday.

The Mustangs improved to 2-0 on the season this past week. They earned their second-straight 7-0 victory on Friday, this time over their Bronx-campus counterparts, the Monroe College Express. Ivan Silic led the Mustangs with three goals in the win. Leon Sitz, Harry Pinchard, Liam Murray and Cooper Nunn each provided a goal as well. Pinchard and Sitz each registered three points in the game with an assist apiece. Goalkeepers Jacob Forster and Leon Grueneke split the game between the pipes, making two saves apiece for a combined shutout.

The Mustangs, who have not lost a game since the 2018 NJCAA Championship semifinals on Nov. 16, 2018, will play next on Wednesday, May 5, when they visit Suffolk County Community College for the only road contest scheduled for the regular season. That game is set to begin at 4 p.m.
