Wagner Field Hockey Wins 3-2 Over Yale in Double Overtime Thriller

The Bulldogs jumped in front, 1-0, in the first quarter as Kelly Dolan was able to tip in the chance from Theodora Dillman.

Dillman put Yale up 2-0 in the third quarter, as she was able to put home the chance from the penalty corner from Katie Pieterse and Lena Ansari. Wagner got on the board two minutes later as Liselotte Koop buried the penalty corner chance after receiving the feed from Sara Nelson and Natalie Rocuskie.

The Seahawks carried that momentum for the remainder of the stanza, having a strong defensive stand thanks to the play of Daisy Ruhle, who kept the deficit at one after turning away several Yale attempts, with one of the biggest stops coming with just four minutes remaining in the frame on Imogen Davies' attempt.

With two minutes left in the third, the Green & White drew a penalty corner. Rocuskie sent it in and found Laura Van Hamburg, but her chance was blocked. Koop spotted the loose ball and sent one over to Nelson, who scored the tying goal.

Five minutes into the fourth quarter, Koop's scoring chance was stopped by Summer. On the next offensive series, Nelson and Shaelyn Kobrynich's attempts were both blocked before Agustina DeHarbe found space and sent a shot on target, but too was denied.

In the first extra session, Yale outshot Wagner, 6-1, as Ruhle was able to make three saves in the frame, sending the contest to a second overtime.

In the second overtime, Wagner wasted little time in setting up the game-winner. Cruces Pastorino received the pass from DeHarbe and buried the scoring chance past Summer for Wagner's first win of the season.
