Men’s Soccer Defeats DI ASA College in Home Opener
(Garden City, NY) Nassau Men's Soccer competed against Division I Junior College ASA College on Tuesday night for their first home game of the 2019 season. Early on in the first half Jason Cruz and Randy Lorenzo scored the first goals of their collegiate careers to put the Lions up 2-0. By halftime, ASA had managed to tie things up making it 2-2. Kicking off the second half, Danny Castro recorded his first collegiate goal to break the tie, and the rest was history. The Lions scored 2 more goals to seize the win. The final score was 5-2. Head Coach Dan Fisher commented post-game, "I am really proud of this young group and how they battled against an older experienced team. I can tell that we have an exciting season ahead of us." Next up for the Lions is a scrimmage against Queens College on Thursday.
